Mark your calendars for CIN's 4th Annual Prayer Run
on October 13, 2012!
On October 13 at 9am people throughout North and South America will join together in prayer. Afterwards everyone will run a 5K to symbolize the body of Christ moving to impact children around the world. Each year, the number of participants increases. In 2011, we had nearly 200 participants at 8 locations plus all of the boys and the staff at the Bolivia Life Center orphanage. This event celebrates the 9th anniversary of the BLC!

Increase Your Impact:
You can increase your impact by collecting donations in support of your participation in the Prayer Run. This is an optional, but fun component of the event. Sponsorships can be given by cash or check using the sponsorship form, which can be downloaded by clicking the PDF icon to the right. Once you've collected all your check/cash donations, they can be mailed directly to Children's Impact Network (PO BOX 541900, Lake Worth, FL 33454) or you can turn them into the point person managing your local event on the day of the run/walk.
We can also set up an online sponsorship page for you to share with friends and family. You simply need to set a goal (amount you hope to collect) and email Allie Durrua (allie@cinonline.org) a photo and brief message to your potential sponsors. Click here to see a sample online sponsorship page.
The person who raises the most donations will receive a limited edition print of an original acrylic on wood. 'One of You' by Kristen Feighery of Sanctuary Gallery in Davdison, NC. Dimensions of the print (on wood) are 36"x12". (pictured to the right)
The 3rd Annual Prayer Run at the Bolivia Life Center was yet another memorable event, bringing together boys from the center and volunteers from the church to test their athletic abilities and offer up requests and thanks to God for all he has done for these boys over the past year. Weather was spectacular, permitting an entire day full of athletic competitions ranging from high jump to soccer penalty kicks. This year at the BLC, we introduced an element of competition to the prayer run, timing the boys between each prayer station, making it the first event in an all-day athletic championship. Boys were arranged by age and size to allow for fair competition and a good number of winners, and the first medals were awarded on Saturday evening. One boy, Ever, who is not used to winning a lot of things, could barely believe he was the recipient of a second place medal in long jump. The look on his face of joy mixed with surprise, and the sounds of surprise and admiration from the other boys confirmed that the awards had served their purpose in reinforcing a sense of worth and ability in the boys who competed.

Beds made, check... teeth brushed and faces washed, check.
Sneakers, check... athletic shorts... check. And tons of energy... check! The
boys in the dormitory I am responsible for (intermedios) were ready for the prayer run on this beautiful Saturday morning!
After breakfast, everyone met down stairs as the boys from all the different
dormitories united as a family for the day of prayer. We started the morning
with prayer, along with some organization and rules to our journey around Sipe
Sipe. The grandes (oldest boys) were in the lead. Dressed in their sunglasses,
sweatshirts, and baseball caps, they ran with big smiles and laughs the
whole time. Next up were the medianos, who ran with the Director of the BLC,
Angel Roca, and his family. Full of energy and spunk, the intermedios followed
in third with the help of some young adults from the church. And last, but
certainly not least, were our youngest boys (the pequenos), who were assisted by piggyback
rides and lots of hand holding. Each group stopped at different locations along
the journey
to pray for different needs within the BLC. They prayed for themselves
and
their brothers, the staff and church, their extended families in
America, and
even the kids on the streets. I was so proud to watch and listen to the
grandes huddled together to pray. They are the oldest brothers of the
BLC and they were praying for all their other
brothers. It was a time of unity
for each group of boys as they stopped to pray and as they ran alongside each
other laughing and having fun.
On our final stretch, everyone ran/walked with each other as
we followed the road home to the BLC. Then as we approached the last little bit
of our journey, I heard them count to three and off they went. The
boys came running over the hill to the entrance of the BLC. With smiles,
laughs, and final bursts of energy, the boys ran back to their home. As I
stood at the entrance, it was a moment I will never forget as the boys came
running home..eager, happy, and at peace. Regardless
of everything they have gone through, they ran in freedom and
liberation, knowing they are now home. --Abriel Isham, Bolivia Life
